John Davis & Kevin Evans

04-02-2026

We are saddened to hear of the loss of long term members John Davis and Kevin Evans

Vale – John Davis
A longtime DV (formerly KCC) member, John’s journey in the dog world encompassed Great Danes and also Pekingese. With his wife, they had success in the showring with the Pekingese.
His service to clubs was outstanding – Frankston & Peninsula Kennel Club rewarded him with Life Membership, as did the Pekingese Club of Victoria, Dandenong Poultry & Kennel Club and the Dog Stewards Association. John was also on the Classic Dog Show Committee.
Up to the time of passing, John was still Patron of both the Pekingese Club of Victoria and Dandenong Poultry & Kennel Club.
A valued steward until failing eyesight preventing him continuing in this capacity.
Sadly missed by all who knew him…

We will share funeral details once we have been advised.

Kevin Evans. 16/8/1930-31/1/2026
Involved in our Dog World since the age of 19, Kevin was an exhibitor, breeder, administrator and judge.
Exhibitor/breeder of Collies (Rough), with great success over decades. For his many years of service as Secretary and later as President, Kevin was rewarded with Life Membership of the Collie Club of Victoria. The Bearded Collie Club also honoured him with Life Membership.
A well respected judge for several groups, one of his proudest moments was judging the Collie Club of Vic Championship Show in 2003.
As age began to take its toll, Kevin retired from showing and judging, but everyone will remember him sitting ringside, supporting his son and daughter showing their Bearded Collies.
Will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The Funeral Service for Mr James Kevin Edward Evans will be held at
Tobin Brothers Expressions of Life Chapel, 21 Lyall Road, Berwick on
Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 2pm.

Please be advised that a new Scale of Charges has been implemented effective 1 December 2025.

The updated Scale of Charges can be accessed on the Dogs Victoria website: https://www.dogsvictoria.org.au/forms/fees-scale-of-charges/

All forms that include fees have been updated accordingly. Please ensure you download and use the new versions of all forms.

Additionally, due to a significant number of declined payments, a declined credit card fee will now be applied.

Please also note that manual litter registrations will now incur a processing fee. To avoid this fee, members are encouraged to submit litter registrations via Show Manager.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear Members,
Dogs Australia has noted in its recent Board Minutes that the FCI has reminded them of a clause in their agreement relating to the registration of kennel (prefix) names with the FCI. This process has existed for many years, and some Australian breeders already choose to register their prefixes internationally for additional protection.
Dogs Australia has also confirmed that it has no intention of taking this matter further at this time.
In line with this, DOGS Victoria wishes to reassure Members that we will not be introducing any compulsory requirement for FCI prefix registration.
We appreciate that our Members already manage various costs associated with breeding, membership, and renewals. We do not believe that an additional international registration fee needs to be added unless a Member personally chooses to take up the option.
What this means for Members
• Your DOGS Victoria prefix remains fully recognised and protected within Australia.
• There is no requirement for you to register your prefix with the FCI.
• Members who wish to register voluntarily may do so directly with the FCI. The fee, set by the FCI, is a once-only cost of 10 Euros (approximately AUD $16).
DOGS Victoria will continue to adopt a practical and member-focused approach. If circumstances change or further information becomes available, we will update Members promptly.
Kind regards,
Debbie Parker, Office Operations Manager
