Mr Peter Frost is unable to fulfil his judging appointment (group six and general specials).
Mrs Stephanie Rickard is unable to fulfil her judging appointment (veteran sweepstakes)
Mrs Margaret Joyce will now judge veteran sweepstakes, group six and general specials.
Agility Committee
Elections for the Dogs Victoria Agility Committee have been conducted for 2024.
Candidates
At the close of nominations by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, two nominations were received for the five vacancies on the committee.
In accordance with the regulations the returning officer confirmed the eligibility of the candidates. The returning officer confirms that nominations were in order.
Nominations were received from the following candidates:
Results
As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, an election was not required.
Kerry Spencer and Hannah Diamond are duly elected and will serve a term of two years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2026.
Three vacant positions remain on the committee for the term 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2026.
Sandra Stockman, Stephen Pearson, Jessammy McKinnon, Caroline Bentley and Tegan Smith did not seek re-election, their terms end on 31 July 2024.
Herding Committee
Elections for the Dogs Victoria Herding Committee have been conducted for 2024.
Candidates
At the close of nominations by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, three nominations were received for the three vacancies on the committee.
In accordance with the regulations the returning officer confirmed eligibility of the candidates. The returning officer confirms that nominations were in order.
Nominations were received from the following candidates:

As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, an election was not required.
Katrina Dourley, Pia Butcher and Garry Roberts will serve a term of four years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
Alison Mills did not seek re-election, her term will end on 31 July 2024.
Obedience, Tracking & Endurance Committee
Elections for the Dogs Victoria Obedience, Tracking & Endurance Committee have been conducted for 2024.
Candidates
At the close of nominations by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, two nominations were received for the three vacancies on the committee.
In accordance with the regulations the returning officer confirmed the eligibility of the candidate. The returning officer confirms that the nominations were in order.

Lynn Klecka and Susanna Crankshaw are duly elected and will serve a term of four years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
One vacant position remains on the committee for the term 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
Melissa Ferabend did not seek re-election, her term end on 31 July 2024.
Retrieving & Field Trial Committee
RETRIEVING DISCIPLINE
Candidates
At the close of nominations by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, one nomination for the two vacancies to the retrieving discipline of the committee were received.
In accordance with the Rules the returning officer confirmed the eligibility of the candidate. The returning officer confirms that the nomination was in order.

As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, an election was not required.
Kate Eltringham was duly elected and will serve a term of four years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
Anthony Palmer did not seek re-election, his term ends on 31 July 2024.
SPANIEL AND RETRIEVER DISCIPLINE
Candidates
At the close of nominations for the election by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, no nominations for the one vacancy to the spaniel and retriever discipline of the committee were received.
Results
As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, an election was not required.
One vacant position remains on the committee for a term of four years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
UTILITY DISCIPLINE
Candidates
At the close of nominations for the election by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, no nominations for the one vacancy to the utility discipline of the committee was received.
Results
As the number of nominations did not exceed the number of vacancies, an election was not required.
One vacant position remains on the committee for a term of four years 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.
Russell Thomas did not seek re-election, his term concludes on 31 July 2024.
POINTER AND SETTER DISCIPLINE
Candidates
At the close of nominations for the election by 12 noon on Friday 14 June 2024, one nomination for the two vacancies to the pointer and setter discipline of the committee were received.
In accordance with the Rules the returning officer confirmed the eligibility of the candidate. The returning officer confirms that the nomination was in order.

Kathy Oliver was duly elected and will serve a term of four years from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2028.

KCC Park Facilities Committee are looking for twelve volunteers to assist with planting trees in the new garden beds at KCC Park on the southern boundary near the dam.
Date: Wednesday 15th May
Time: 10am to 2pm
Volunteer work will consist of placing trees in pre dug holes and tying to stakes. You will not be required to dig the holes.
As part of the KCC Park planning permit to remove and trim the ‘at risk’ tress at the venue, we are required to plant 93 indigenous canopy trees.
Over recent months new garden beds have been built on the southern boundary along two fence lines near the dam. On Wednesday 15th May Facilities Committee will organize the planting of the trees that have been on order.
All holes will be pre dug, all that is required is to assist in planting the trees and tying to the stakes.
This is an important project for the Park and assistance from the membership is required to complete the task.
Free lunch will be provided.

Notice to Members - Wednesday 17/4/24 AUSNET Power Outage KCC Park 3 hour Office Closure
Dear Members
AUSNET have advised that power to Dogs Victoria KCC Park will be turned off on Wednesday 17 April 2024 from 10am to 1pm as AUSNET undertake essential maintenance on the electricity network in the area.
Unfortunately, as this impacts every facet of the Dogs Victoria Office operation, I am advising that the Dogs Victoria office will be closed for these three hours on Wednesday 17 April 2024, from 10am to 1pm.
The Dogs Victoria Office team will utilise this time to undertake a staff meeting offsite and be back on board at 1pm to resume normal operation.
We apologise for the short interruption to member services caused by the AUSNET power outage.

President Election
At the close of nominations at 4pm on Monday 8 January 2024, three nominations were received for the president position on the management committee. On Tuesday 16 January 2024, one candidate withdrew their nomination for this position, leaving two nominations for the president position.
The scrutiny and count of ballot papers, received before the close of voting (5pm 4 April 2024) was conducted on Friday 5 April 2024 at the Victorian Electoral Commission, Level 4, 530 Collins St, Melbourne. The following first preference votes were polled by the candidates, listed below in ballot paper order:

Peter Anthony FROST attained an absolute majority on the first preference for the election and is therefore declared the President for a term of four years.

At the close of nominations at 4pm on Monday 8 January 2024, four nominations were received for the three positions on management committee.

I would clarify that as required by the Dogs Victoria Constitution 1.5.35, Dogs Victoria will publish the Dogs Victoria Annual Report in the month of April 2024, which contains 30 days, and is the month preceding the Annual General Meeting, scheduled for 22/5/24.

To publish in the VCA Gazette in the month preceding the Annual General Meeting of that year:
.1 a detailed audited Income and Expenditure Account of the VCA for the year ended 31st December in the preceding year (including a detailed schedule in the Notes to the Accounts of the various individual categories of expenditure which, either singly or aggregated, exceed $500 and which are incorporated in the total for Sundry Expenses) and a detailed audited balance sheet as at that date and annual reports of the President and the Chairpersons of other Committees;
.2 an Income and Expenditure Budget and Cash Flow Budget for the current year ending 31st December, such Budgets to include all proposed new capital works expenditure, proposed expenditure on new projects undertaken or to be undertaken during the current year and the funding of same; and
