Dogs Victoria is aware that under the Victorian Road Safety Rules 2017 (Part 18 - Miscellaneous Road Rules), it is prohibited to lead an animal by the driver of a motor vehicle or rider of a bicycle (and includes tethering of an animal to a motor vehicle or bicycle). This has implications for the ANKC accredited Endurance Test.
Dogs Victoria is aware of this issue and OTEC will address the issue at its next meeting and then discuss this at national level, but current plans are for ET trials to continue in 2018.
Dogs Victoria will keep members advised of further developments on this issue.

The National Rottweiler Council (Australia) - NRC(A) - would like to advise the International Federation of Rottweiler Friends (IFR) of the following:-
As from the 1st July, 2017 it will be mandatory that all Rottweilers prior to being used for breeding in Australia be tested for JLPP (Juvenile Laryngeal Paralysis Polyneuropathy) and that all NRC(A) State Member Clubs and their members will now be following this ruling.
The NRC(A) Executive and Member clubs would hope that the ANKC would also implement this into the ANKC scheme so that all Rottweiler Breeders in Australia will be under the same rule.
Please find attached a copy of the NRC(A) JLLPP Scheme here

Members will note that Dogs Victoria’s ‘Amend the Bill’ website is currently on hold as it is being updated with new content to reflect the changes in our campaign and to support our ongoing promotion of purebred dogs. The new site will still maintain our central message of ‘keeping puppies in the home’ but we also need to prepare for the outcome of consultations with the Government over the amended Bill. We understand the urgency in getting the new site up ASAP, so stay tuned for further updates.
